Child Cancer Foundation
The mission of the Child Cancer Foundation is "Every child and their family walking the child cancer journey will never feel alone."
They are committed to supporting children and their families through this traumatic and challenging journey. From the time of diagnosis, throughout the journey of treatments and subsequently the transition back into the community, the Foundation is there to offer support and care to all members of the family.
The Foundation's support includes those families facing the palliative stage of treatment and those dealing with the loss of a child.
More than 150 children in New Zealand are diagnosed with cancer each year and the Foundation can support up to 900 families at one time.
The Ports of Auckland Round the Bays 2012 event is donating 500 electric thermometers for children undergoing cancer treatment, with a total value of $30,000.
Garden to Table Trust
The Garden to Table Trust exists to develop life-long healthier and happier eating habits in a new generation of New Zealanders by engaging them at primary school in growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing delicious food.
The aim is to change the way children approach and think about food. All around the country, the Trust wants to see children enthusiastically getting their hands dirty and learning how to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal food.
The fundamental philosophy that underpins the Garden to Table Programme is that, by setting good examples and engaging children's curiosity, as well as their energy and their taste buds, they can provide positive and memorable food experiences that will form the basis of positive lifelong eating habits.
Ten schools will benefit from the proceeds from the Ports of Auckland Round the Bays with a total donation of $25,000.

Fairfax First Books
Fairfax First Books is a charity established by Fairfax Media in 2006 to improve the reading levels of under five year olds in disadvantaged communities and promote reading within their families.
Through Fairfax First Books, each child who attends a low decile kindergarten in New Zealand receives one book each term to take home and keep. There are nearly 4,500 New Zealand children who attend these qualifying kindergartens, which is around 18,000 books per year.
Thanks to Fairfax Media and Round the Bays funding, the programme is again taking place in 2012 and has grown with many more kindergartens around the country now receiving books each term.
